Deacon Randy Altstadt has been a Deacon at Church of St. Henry and Holy Cross Butler since 2012. He was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by Bishop John F. Kinney on June 2, 2012 at St. Mary’s Cathedral St. Cloud. He grew up a block and a half away from St. Henry’s and is an alumni of St. Henry’s Area School. He graduated from Perham High School in 1978 and married his high school sweetheart Janel Schmelz in July of 1980. They have two children, Andrea Vanderbeek who is married to Josh and live in New York Mills, and Andrew Altstadt who is married to Beth and live in St. Paul, MN. Andrea and Josh have two children, Aubrie and Croix.

 

Randy is a meat cutter by trade and has held many jobs of which most of them have pertained to food in some way or another including the ownership of a grocery store in Melrose, MN.
