Reflection for Wednesday 25 March 2020, Solemnity of the Annunciation of Our Lord
Dear sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus,
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God.”
We believe that God became incarnate through the power of the Holy Spirit and the cooperation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We believe that nothing is impossible with God. We believe that our prayers against the current pandemic are effective because God is still with us and listens to our prayers. May God continue to draw us closer to Himself and enlarge our humanity to better receive His grace, even as we struggle and suffer together. Our incarnate reality on earth is not greater than His Incarnate Reality in heaven.
Peace in Christ,
Father Matthew Kuhn
